Apple zawarł z Econergy „popularną w branży OZE długoterminową umowę PPA (virtual Power Purchase Agreement) na zakup energii” – napisała „Rz”. Gazeta cytuje wiceprezes Apple’a, Lisę Jackson, która powiedziała dziennikowi, że „umowa była kluczowa dla pozyskania finansowania na budowę farmy”.
Firma ma w planie uruchomienie farm OZE o łącznej mocy 650 MW. Powstaną farmy wiatrowe i fotowoltaiczne w Polsce, Rumunii, we Włoszech, w Grecji i na Łotwie (OZE już pracują dla Apple w Hiszpanii). Łączna produkcja ma osiągnąć ponad milion megawatogodzin rocznie, co ma zrównoważyć ładowanie iPhone’ów, Maców i iPadów w Europie – informował koncern. Apple chce wydać na te inwestycje ok. 600 milionów dolarów.
A 40 MW photovoltaic farm will begin operations in Resko, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, reports „Rzeczpospolita” in Tuesday’s edition. According to the newspaper, Apple is the investor, and the project will be implemented by the Israeli company Econergy.
Apple has signed a „long-term PPA (virtual power purchase agreement) with Econergy, a popular agreement in the renewable energy industry,” „Rzeczpospolita” reported. The newspaper quotes Apple’s vice president, Lisa Jackson, who told the newspaper that „the agreement was crucial for securing financing for the farm’s construction.”
The company plans to launch renewable energy farms with a total capacity of 650 MW. Wind and photovoltaic farms will be built in Poland, Romania, Italy, Greece, and Latvia (renewable energy is already operating for Apple in Spain). Total production is expected to reach over one million megawatt-hours per year, which is intended to offset the charging of iPhones, Macs, and iPads across Europe, the company announced. Apple wants to spend around $600 million on these investments.
